The Area

beach holiday

Thong Nai Pan Yai is a laid-back family beach with fine sand and calm clear water that's perfect for swimming almost year-round. Here you'll find small resorts, chilled-out bars, a handful of restaurants, and the vital 7-11.

Thong Nai Pan Noi, one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, is moving a little more upmarket, with fine dining in five-star resorts and coffee shops, as well as a string of more affordable restaurants, convenience stores and pharmacies. The sea here is wonderful for swimming for most of the year, though the waves can sometimes be too strong from November to February.

Narivana is at the northeastern end of the island. To the Full Moon Party on Haad Rin it's about half an hour by car and 45 minutes by longtail boat. The best way is to make arrangements with our driver to drop you and pick you up.

Getting there and around: The quickest way is to fly to Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways or any of its share partners, and from there take the half-hour ferry across to Koh Phangan. Just buy the ferry ticket at the airport counter*. Or fly to Surat Thani or Chumpon by low-cost carrier and take the ferry from there. Our driver will be waiting for you in the port of Thong Sala.

Cars can be rented from Sea Mew in the port of Thong Sala (avoid other companies) and mopeds from a trusted company on Thong Nai Pan Yai. We can reserve them for you, or you can make arrangements with our driver.
